    More About BCBBS®

    What is BCBBS®?

The Board Certified Biologics and Biosimilars Specialist Program (BCBBS) is a self-paced, online, board certification program that strives to set the standard of excellence in the field of biologics and biosimilars. The BCBBS program has made it its mission to establish expertise among professionals involved in the optimization of biological therapy. The BCBBS enhances your understanding of the regulatory and analytical landscape of biologics and biosimilars allowing you to power your career in a rapidly expanding field.

This comprehensive, 9-module, self-paced, e-learning, online program trains you on the most critical knowledge areas within the biologics & biosimilars space to help make you a subject matter expert in the field. With BCBBS certification, you've proven your commitment to raising the bar in patient care through intensive study, self-assessment, and evaluation.

    BCBBS® Background

The first biosimilar entered the US marketplace in 2015 and since then approximately 40 biosimilars have been approved. The healthcare system has been waiting for advancements in biologics medicines to improve patient quality of life. Often, drug pricing costs had been an obstacle for many patients and providers in accessing biologics. With more biosimilars expected to receive approval across several therapeutic areas over the next 5-10 years, the importance of educating the life sciences and healthcare communities on biologics and biosimilars has never been more important.

Along with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which as developed a curriculum toolkit, The Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs (ACMA) has developed the first and only recognized US and International Board Certification Program for industry, clinical and scientific professionals in order to create an internationally-accepted standard of knowledge, education, and experience by which leaders in the field will be recognized as Board Certified Biologics and Biosimilars Specialists (BCBBS®)

Learn more about the BCBBS® eligibility criteria

ACMA developed the BCBBS® Certification program to evaluate the knowledge, understanding, and application of best practices for the field to help professionals who are either treating patients or those working in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices or diagnostic industries to gain a deeper understanding of the biologics & biosimilars field.
