Our History

2015

Advisory Board

The ACMA is founded and convenes an advisory board with healthcare thought leaders across the pharmaceutical, medicine, and academia industries. The board gained insights into the professional development needs of life sciences professionals with a particular focus on Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and Medical Affairs professionals.

2016

Accredited Certification

The Board Certified Medical Affairs Specialist (BCMAS) programis launched and quickly becomes recognized as the certification standard of excellence for Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and Medical Affairs professionals. The ACMA becomes the first and only accredited organization offering board certification for Medical Affairs and MSLs.

2017

Global Growth

Demand for the BCMAS program grows beyond the borders of the United States and the ACMA develops region- and country-specific content to address the global regulatory & compliance needs of the pharmaceutical industry. The ACMA launches the Pharmaceutical Representative Certification (PRC)program for localities in the U.S. which require pharmaceutical representative credentialing, such as Illinois and Washington D.C.

2018

Certificate Programs

The ACMA launches several certificate programs such as the Regulatory Affairs Expert Program, Clinical Development Expert Program (CDEP), and more. The ACMA is featured in Forbes, Pharmaceutical Executive and ABC News for its work in raising the bar in the pharmaceutical industry.

2019

Certification Expansion

The ACMA launches the Prior Authorization Certified Specialist (PACS) program and establishes the National Board of Prior Authorization Specialists. The ACMA also launches ACMA Society to help bring members of the life sciences community closer together.

2020

Technology

The ACMA launches its technology solutions for the life sciences industry. The creation of ACMA Predict, a predictive analytics platform which offers sentiment analysis in the healthcare and pharma industries, paves the way for the ACMA's technological advances. The ACMA also receives the IACET/ANSI award as the Exemplar Training Organization of the Year in the Life Sciences.

2021

United States Congress

The ACMA is invited by the U.S. Congress' House Committee on Energy and Commerce's Health Subcommittee to discuss Pharmaceutical Industry standards for Medical Science Liaison (MSL) and Medical Affairs professionals. Read more here.

ACMA introduces An AI enabled, cloud based, sophisticated machine learning tool that is trained on the largest compendium of data in the life sciences. It can be custom trained on your internal data (clinical studies, SOPs, articles, etc.). No more wasted time looking through shared drives and folders.
