In the initial session, Dr. Mark Harman will explore personal styles of communication and potential biases that may come with training (pharmacy, medical, PhD, RN, PA, etc.). This will help the attendees understand themselves as well as styles they will encounter. It also brings awareness of potential points of caution and conflict when encountering styles different than theirs. The second session will be understanding the mindset of an HCP in order to create the greatest value for them. The final session will be practical skill sets on creating good interactivity and presentation skills when delivering presentations to groups.

• Brief history of Medical Affairs and its role in bringing education and value to HCPs
• What Medical Affairs is NOT, direct commercial activity.
• Understanding styles of communication
• Leaving professional acrimony and ego at the door
• Becoming aware of personal triggers (Amygdala hijack cycles)

Session 2:

• The HCP mindset
• Evaluating their needs to provide specific value
• Potential points of conflict
• The professional differences (patterns to be aware)

Session 3:

• Using data to tell a narrative
• Guiding interactivity in groups
• Preventing discussion gridlocks
• The art of the Q&A
